This is the 03-Tellar. In the Armoured infantry division of the GCA, these are basic medium-armoured mechs that are used fairly commonly in most battles.
This mech can use all standard weapon types and is powered indefinitely by its onboard generator which uses a special mineral that changes nitrogen from the atmosphere into anti-nitrogen and then causes an anti-matter reaction converting it perfectly into energy with no waste. in the event that there is no nitrogen (for instance, in space) the unit has two uranium fuel rods (one for anti-uranium and one for regular uranium, which are also converted into antimatter for an anti-matter reaction) which are capable of powering the unit for 5 years before they need replacing.
While a crew of 1 may seem very low for a 50 meter tall mech, each one has it's own operator overseeing its operations, which takes a lot of the pressure off the pilot to keep tabs on everything that is happening in the battle, allowing the pilot to concentrate more on actually piloting the mech, meaning that it only needs one pilot. There is of course an obvious advantage to only having one pilot for a mech being that 2 or more pilots have to work perfectly in sync, whereas one does not.
while this mech has absolutely no flight or jump capability, it is capable of walking/running at a fairly impressive speed

this was actually so much fun to draw!! it was really nice to see it turn out really nicely in pencil first. i also decided to shade this with a C-1 copic marker IT WAS THE FIRST TIME I USED COPIC MARKERS AND IT WAS EPIC (even though, i was so terrified of messing up the original that the version i shaded is a print ) but i really like how this turned out it's also noce to look at the back of the sheet so i can just see the grey from the copic, so i just see the shading XD it looks awesome.
so yeah.
drawn on A4 paper with a 2b mechanical pencil (maybe 3 hours) > scanned in and retouched on photoshop to get rid of papergrey and smudges etc > printed onto a4 paper > print shaded with a C-1 Copic Ciao marker (roughly 3 hours)
hehehehehe, yes the helmet and certain parts of the body were indeed inspired by medieval knight armour, although, i must say that mech drawing itself is just an extension of drawing fantasy-style knight armour.
